LoL Champion Tier List 2026 — Best Picks Per Role
Tier lists in League of Legends shift every patch. This is the 2026 meta snapshot: S-tier (must-pick / must-ban), A-tier (strong meta), B-tier (situational). Tiered by win rate × pick rate × climb-ability for solo queue. Pro play differs — this is solo Q meta, not LCS.
Top Lane — S, A, B tiers
S-tier
- Darius — 5-stack hemorrhage execute, level 1 all-in. Iron-to-Plat top pick.
- Sett — W true damage execute, R displacement engage. Brawl scaling perfect for solo Q chaos.
- Camille — E hookshot engage, R isolate. Strong vs squishies + brawlers.
A-tier
- Garen — Conqueror sustain, point-and-click silence. Forgiving, scales well.
- Fiora — vital duelist, 1v1 monster. High skill cap.
- Ornn — team-wide passive items, R global slow. Best team-fight tank top.
B-tier
- Malphite — R AoE engage is huge, but lane phase weak vs bruisers.
- Riven — high mechanical ceiling, low floor. Skip if not 100+ games invested.

Counter-pick matrix — 5 key matchups
- Malphite > Yasuo — Point-and-click stun + AP burst destroys wind wall.
- Vayne > Darius — Range kite stops 5-stack hemorrhage.
- Lissandra > Zed — R suppress + hard CC locks down all-in.
- Brand > Lulu — AoE damage support out-trades enchanter pre-6.
- Caitlyn > Jinx — Lane bullies stop scaling hyper-carry.
Counter-picking lane is the single biggest win condition in low elo. Use Champion Select to deny opponent's pick or counter directly. See LoL Top Lane Matchups for the full counter-pick guide.
Common Tier List-rank mistakes
- Picking B-tier champions despite their lower win rate (chasing personal favorites over meta)
- No counter-pick consideration in champion select
- One-tricking outside the S-tier list (assuming "all picks are viable" is solo Q cope)
- Following pro-play picks (Orianna in LCS ≠ Orianna in solo Q)
- Ignoring patch notes — meta shifts every 2 weeks
Drill: 1 S-tier pick per role per week
Pick one S-tier champ from this list. Play 20 ranked games on it. Don't deviate. Track win rate per week. By month 4 you've mastered 5 S-tier picks across roles and you can flex into any role solo Q forces you into. This is the climbing path — not "play whatever champ I like."
