The role picks, weapon configs, and ability combos that win rounds on Standard 2v2 (Doubles) in Rocket League. Site-by-site breakdowns + the loadouts that actually pair with them.
Offense: In 2v2, the kickoff matters even more than 3v3 — you have one teammate to cover. Center commits, back grabs the big boost behind net and reads. If you lose the 50, back must cover both rotations.
Defense: Mirror their kickoff. If you lose the 50, your back covers — don't try to flank. 2v2 punishes any over-commit harder than 3v3 because there's no 3rd man cleaning up.
Offense: In 2v2 possession, the dribbler must commit shots — there's no 3rd man to support. Backup reads the angle and is ready for the rebound. Don't hold possession too long — 2v2 favors fast strikes.
Defense: Challenger commits to break the dribble, goalie covers absolute net. NO double-commits — 2v2 punishes this instantly. If challenger fails, goalie saves and starts counter.
Offense: After a save in 2v2, the goalie has 1 second before opponent re-pressures. Clear toward the corner, backup picks up, COUNTER. The counter-attack out of a save is the highest-EV play in 2v2.
Defense: They're shooting. Goalie reads angle, backup covers rebound. After the save, immediately rotate to counter. 2v2 defense becomes offense FAST.
