R6 Y11S2 Ranked Tier List: The Operators Actually Winning Rounds (Operation System Override)

In Y11S2 ranked, Solid Snake is the attack pick of the season, because his Soliton Radar makes it hard to walk into a fight blind. On defense, Smoke, Jäger and Mira stay on top because denial never goes out of date. Ash got a buff, not a nerf. Still, the operator is rarely why you lost a round.

Operation System Override (Year 11, Season 2) landed on June 2, 2026, and it's the biggest meta shakeup Siege has had in a while. Every site is publishing a tier list. This isn't quite that.

Tier lists tell you who's strong. They don't tell you how that operator wins you a round when you're solo-queuing at 2,000 RP trying to break into Emerald. So that's the angle here: the operators actually deciding ranked rounds in Y11S2 — and the one thing each does that climbs. Everything below reflects the July 2 (Y11S2.1) balance patch, not launch-day numbers.

If you'd rather have this called out live in your own matches, that's literally what RECON6's live coach does. But the read first.

Attack: the operators winning rounds

Solid Snake is the story of the season, even though he arrived back in Silent Hunt. His Soliton Radar MK III gives you real-time awareness of nearby defenders and traps — green for clear, yellow for caution, red for alert, with a Precision Mode that briefly shows exact positions and even facing direction. Which means the number-one thing that loses you ranked rounds (walking into a fight blind) just got a lot harder to do. Worth knowing: the Y11S2.1 patch fixed three radar exploits (the Emerald Plains rooftop detect, the prone floor-below detect, the weapon-cycling break), so he now reads as designed — strong intel, no cheese. If you take one op away from this article: he's an S-tier pick specifically because he fixes bad information, which is exactly what plateaued players lack. Don't rush with the radar up — use it to hold the first fight, then commit.

Ace is the safest hard breach in the game right now, and in ranked "safe" wins more than "flashy." His broad breach range plus the AK-12 means you open the wall you need without dying to a runout doing it. If your team never has a plan for the reinforced wall, Ace is the pick that gives you one.

Dokkaebi got the season's headline rework — the Jegeo Payload — and she's still a top-tier disruption pick, with an asterisk: the July 2 patch put a 7-second cooldown between activations, so the chain-spam lockout is gone. Her ranked value now is timing, not volume: sync one call with your team's execute to deny cams and force defenders off comfortable holds at the moment it matters. If your lobby still reflex-bans her, that ban slot is overpaying post-patch.

Rounding out the strong attack picks: Thatcher (still the answer to electrified walls — his EMP radius even got a small buff in S2.1, but stop throwing EMPs at the wall too early; save one for the actual breach), Nomad (flank denial that keeps your push from getting collapsed), Maverick (the surgical breach when Thermite/Hibana get denied), and Lion (info + pressure).

Defense: the operators winning rounds

The defensive S-tier is more stable, and that's the point — the fundamentals still win. Smoke and Jäger perform at the top across every map and every rank because they solve two problems that never go away: denying the plant (Smoke's gas is for time, not kills — throw it on the defuser, not the doorway) and eating the utility that would otherwise clear your anchors (Jäger's ADS).

Mira is still one of the most punishing tools a defender has. A Black Mirror on the right wall, backed by Bandit or Kaid electrical denial, forces attackers to burn real utility just to deal with one gadget — and in ranked, most teams don't have that utility coordinated. That's free rounds.

Also holding the top: Azami (her Kiba barriers reshape sites and reseal breaches), Mute (jammer denial that's more relevant than ever), Fenrir, and Denari.

Which Y11S2 changes should change your pick?

The part the tier list won't tell you

Here's the thing every ranked grinder needs to hear: the operator is rarely why you lost the round. You lost because you peeked with no info, didn't trade, or your crosshair was below the head when the fight started. The best operator in Y11S2 doesn't fix that. Reps and honest review do.

Honest review of your own rounds is the whole idea behind RECON6 — the meta read above is free and public, but the part that actually climbs is having your own rounds broken down: which pick fit the site, where the fight went wrong, what to do next time.

Pick the operators above. Then go find out why you're really stuck — it's usually not the pick.
